Plan your Trip to Singapore with the Help of Smart Local

When you travel don't you wish you could chat with the locals and find out about all the things to do and places to see that guide books just don't mention? Well on the SmartLocal.com travelers to Singapore can read Singapore reviews written by locals and past travelers who share the inside info about the city. The site lists a whopping 10,923 reviews and covers categories like see and do, eat, shop and sleep. The site also has a forum so that if you can't find what you're looking for on the site you can always ask one of the locals online. So the site is not only a local's guide to Singapore but also a social forum and endless source of information about Singapore.

The Smart Local has clean graphics, lots of photos and is easy to navigate. On this site you really will find stuff you can't find on the standard travel guide sites. What interests me most is not the overview information in each category or even the detailed guides but the "Unique Singapore" section is fascinating. You can find out about TV and media in Singapore, festivals and holidays, Singapore products and famous faces among other interesting topics. The shopping section in Smart Local will help you out if you're looking for something specific as the section is broken down into detailed categories.

Budget travelers will love the fact that you can search Smart Local for hostels, budget accommodation and you can search categories according to your budget. When visitors to Singapore are choosing which attractions to visit there is a useful star rate next to each attraction for quick reference. But ex-pats in Singapore can also use Smart Local extensively and of course make connections through the forum. Those planning to move to Singapore or go for an extended stay can make use of the sections on services, government and organizations and education and training.

Whether you already live in Singapore, are planning to move to Singapore or visiting for a day or longer the Smart Local Singapore reviews can give you invaluable advice which can't be found on other sites.

Snorkeling with Sea Paradise in Kona, Hawaii

If you are visiting Kona, Hawaii Sea Paradise can offer you one of the simplest ways of exploring Keauhou Bay. Booking with them is very straight forward and they take care of everything for you like providing equipment, wetsuits, food and beverages.

Morning and Afternoon Snorkel

The catamaran Hokuhele leaves Keauhou Bay and takes you out along the Kona coast to Kealakekua Bay where the Captain Cook Monument is. Along the way you are likely to see Hawaiian Spinner dolphins, reef fish, Manta Rays and during whale season (November to March) you may also see whales.

Once you reach the reef there is an hour's snorkel time in the crystal clear water, passengers enjoy a filling lunch and then the catamaran sets off for the second snorkel location at Red Hill.

Night Snorkel with Manta Rays

If you're looking for something different then try going on a night snorkel. The crew takes you out to Manta Ray Village where experts will tell you a little about these creatures, then you enter the water and spend an hour swimming with the gentle marine giants.

It’s the little extras with this company that make all the difference, for example they can help you identify the fish or even take you on a guided snorkel. A few point to consider:

·         Sea Paradise offers multi trip discounts
·         They are conveniently located and check-in is at the Keauhou Shopping Center
·         You can bring your own alcohol
·         It is possible to charter the catamaran for private events
·         Sea Paradise has 25 years of experience
·         This activity is family friendly and all ages are welcome
·         If you book a second trip online within 14 days of your first trip, you get a 50% discount
·         Sea Paradise is rated number one on Trip Advisor

With Sea Paradise you don't need to worry about spending your money and then not seeing manta rays as they have a Manta Guarantee. This doesn't mean that you get your money back but that if you don’t see the creatures you can re-book for free and go on another trip.

So if you are looking for a professional company and you want a once-in-a-lifetime experience then try Sea Paradise.

Site Review: The Travel Advisor

The Travel Advisor is just that, an interesting site with travel advice about many issues connected with travel. The landing page makes it easy to negotiate the site with plenty of photos and featured items. The site is open to any travelers who want to write about their travel experiences, write reviews or offer travel advice. All you need to do is register using your Facebook account then start building your post by adding a Google map of the thing you are writing about, a gallery and featured photos. This offers great opportunities to those who want to write about or review a travel related thing but don't want to go to all the bother of starting their own blog. Those that join the site can also make use of the site forum for chatting with other travelers and getting advice from those who have been-there and done-that. If you aren't interested in writing on the site but are just looking for useful travel advice then you can browse the reviews and articles according to categories including: hotels, natural phenomena, tourist attractions and travel agencies.

The cleverly named site (clever as it is so similar to the mother of all travel advise sites – TripAdvisor) is a useful stop on your way to planning your next trip. The site will give you ideas about where to go and what to see but most importantly the advice comes from fellow travelers with real experience and up-to-date information.

Bali Villa Rent - Luxury Homes

BaliVillaRent.net is a site where you can find luxury homes to rent on the island of Bali. From your first visit to the site you will understand that Bali Villa Rent is all about luxury, the slick layout and black background make the site high gloss and appealing. The Island of the Gods – Bali - offers sun, surf, golden beaches, relaxation and a chance to pamper yourself.

Bali Villa Rent has many years of experience arranging vacation accommodation for travelers to Bali and the site lists only the best rentals the island has to offer. They also have the advantage of actually being based on the island so that the site is kept current and the newest and most popular properties reach their site first!

On the site you can search for your ideal Bali luxury home according to property features (home theatre, balcony, barbecue, air-conditioning, 24/7 security beach view, garden etc) or by type of property, location or price. The service offered at a Bali Villa rent property is extensive including airport pick-up, housekeeping, meals prepared by a private chef and more. The villas offer you amenities that can include swimming pools, billiard table, tennis courts and more. Of course there are more basic (yet still top quality) vacation accommodations offered on the site and you can even use "affordable rentals" as your search criteria. You can choose from a villa for a large group or family to something more exclusive and romantic.

When you search for a Bali villa rental on this site you'll see the price (unlike some sites which try to hide the price until booking) and villa details as well as photos of the property. I was truly surprised by the quality of the properties on offer. For example a 2 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, luxuriously furnished 300m² villa rental costs only $175 a night. Just think a villa that size could accommodate a whole family, so compared to hotel prices this is actually reasonable, yet much more exclusive.

Before you book a generic hotel room in Bali take a look at Balivillarent.net you'll be surprised at the luxury home you can afford.

The site has regular posts (blog style) with insightful and informed insights on subjects such as "how to keep kids entertained during a road trip" and "Five reasons that the Soho House New York exudes luxury". Fishing in Key West with Southbound

If you want to get an idea of what fishing off Key West is really like then take a look at the Southbound Sport Fishing site, it is simply packed with photos taken daily on their extraordinary fishing excursions. You can see photos of the tuna, Barracuda, Mutton Snapper, Yellow Jack, Blue Marlin and Yellow Tail Snappers that the Southbound team helped visitors catch. There are also shots of fish which were caught and released like a bright yellow Golden Gouper and a Sail Fish. The photos go on and on and considering that they are dated you can see how frequently this lucky team has a good catch. No doubt if you do take a fishing excursion with Southbound your triumphant photo with your fish will appear here.

At the very bottom of the long list of posts with a photo in each, you can find links to the relevant information you'll need to book a fishing excursion with Southbound. You can click through to information about rates and chartering a Key West fishing boat, holiday special offers and even recipes! I would have preferred to have seen these links at the top of the page but never the less the photos are quite stunning and worth scrolling through.

Southbound can take you trolling, live bait fishing, deep sea fishing, wreck fishing or reef fishing. Southbound Key West Sports Fishing is a professional team of dedicated fishermen who really know what they're doing and (as you can see in the pictures) they know how to lead you to where the fish are! After all, what's the most important thing about fishing? Catching a fish!

The site answers questions like when is the best time to fish in Key West, can I keep the fish I catch and what about the old wives tale "no bananas". Well to answer that one you'll have to visit the site!

Perhaps the most useful information on the Absolut Fishing site is that they give you prices up front, there are no hidden fees and added extras. Travel Review - Book Hotels in Limassol, Cyprus

Traveling to Cyprus or another Greek isle? Here's a site offering you lots of information, tips and guidance about a Greek island vacation and hotels in Limassol, Cyprus. The Louis Hotels site offers accommodation information and booking for hotels in Cyprus as well as useful travel tools for planning your vacation. You can find out about getting married in Cyprus or having a conference in Cyprus. The Louis Hotels site is bright, has plenty of photos and is easy to navigate, its also available in 6 languages!

Use some of the travel tools offered on the Louis Hotel's site like finding the best beaches in Cyprus or seeing what the weather is like at your travel destination. Another useful feature is the map of hotels in the Greek isles. You can really get an idea as to where you'll be staying in relation to the airport and attractions. One of my favorite features when looking for holiday accommodation is the option to search according to the type of holiday you want to have – active, family, all-inclusive, wedding, business or relaxing. This avoids the nightmare of arriving at your hotel for a romantic getaway only to find it overrun with screaming kids! Or getting there with the kids and there is nothing for them to do! The site has a recently added feature where you can also search for flights directly from the hotel booking page.

Perhaps the most appealing aspect of the Louis Hotels site is the list of discounts on the right hand side of the landing page.  To give you an idea of the offers they have there is a 15% discount on 3 nights in one of their hotels and "book 7 nights pay for 6" for September and October. You can get even more discounts on hotels in Limassol by joining the Louis Hotels loyalty scheme.

Scrubba Wash Bag - How to do laundry when traveling?

Where was the Scrubba when I was backpacking around Europe?! What an amazing travel accessory. This award winning travel washing bag works like an old fashioned washboard. You put your clothes into the bag, add water and washing powder and just scrub for a few seconds. Then repeat with clean water to rinse and hang up to dry!
No looking for Laundromats or using the hostel sink, no wasting money on laundry services when away from home, no lugging around your dirty laundry for days, and no breaking your back trying to do your washing in the hostel sink!
This compact travel washing "machine" weights only 150g, folds into almost pocket size and effectively washes a small load of washing in minutes. If you want to be even more efficient there is a Scrubba Traveler Kit which includes the Scrubba wash bag, Scrubba Travel Towel (microfiber so great for drying yourself and your clothes), a Scrubba Travel Clothes Line and a Scrubba Travel Bag to keep it all in. this is really compact and will not take up a lot of space in your backpack or luggage.

Who should use the Scrubba wash bag?

Obviously travelers who are on the go and want a fast, easy and cheap (free after the initial purchase of the bag) way to do their washing. Campers and backpackers will love this and I dare say also collage students on a budget! It would also make an excellent gift to give to young travelers off on their first backpacking adventure. A great "bon voyage" gift!

The Scrubba wash bag can be bought online and worldwide delivery is included in the price. This is an investment for all future travel and an innovative and useful travel tool for all travelers.
